Data migration projects
( Oracle to Postgres migration )
Project 1:
Our Database Architect Abhilash is working with a major university for Data Migration across Oracle Enterprise Databases to Postgres. The goal of the project is to ensure all the data is being moved out of Oracle to Postgres. There were various stages of Application development we engaged to make this a smooth transition. The project involved
re-writing of PL/pgsql procedures.
Project 2:
Our Database Architect Abhilash has worked with a retail major to move out their billing systems from Oracle platforms to Postgres. This was in particularly a time sensitive project where the billing systems were needed to be moved out in a phased out approach. We were also involved in troubleshooting PL/pgsql while assisting the client developers to use the optimum code for various applications. A lot of optimisation had been done to avoid redundant code functionalities.

Project 3:
Our Database Architect Abhilash worked with insurance major where a Database started performing slowly. Upon deep diving into the issue, the Database Architect identified a function based index which was required and after implementation improved the performance of the query by 200% and improved the online processing of applications. Based on this success the same idea was carried forward to several other modules where online processing speed improved other parts of the Application. This has helped several customer care executives process applications at a faster rate improving overall Business Efficiency.
Project 4:
Our Database Architect Abhilash worked with a Telecom giant and there was a company-wide change of hardware from Solaris SPARC to Intel x86-64. This was a major change in the server. However, there were challenges in restoring database from a different UNIX flavour. The prompt technical expertise to recommend use of Transportable Tablespace brought down the planned downtimes of the servers by 300% and thereby with diligent planning no production data was lost and online business operations resumed on new servers.

Our Database Architect Abhilash worked with an insurance giant and automated cloud patching utilities to ensure patching windows are streamlined. The automated patching helps patch several databases at once to ensure efficiency.
Project 6:
Our Database Architect Abhilash has set up a proven cloud migration methodology to an insurance giant in migrating Oracle databases to Oracle cloud by right sizing the environments as needed.
Project 7:
Our Database Architect Abhilash has automated many cloud operations without the need of expensive automation utilities. The automation framework set up by Abhilash has increased the customer efficiency of their business and has greatly reduced manual operations and human errors.
